Introducing ELS librarian Sarah Kaye

We are very pleased to welcome our new librarian, Sarah Kaye, to the ELS team. Sarah will be responsible for delivering the service to primary schools in Halton, as well as overseeing provision to special schools throughout Cheshire. Over to Sarah!

Hello lovely people! I’m Sarah Kaye and I have recently started working as an ELS Librarian for Cheshire Education Library Service. I’m an outgoing, vegetarian, dog mum, with a deep love of all things Tolkien. I’m also a sucker for a well organised spreadsheet!

My library career has been full of twists and turns. After a lengthy library related masters course (gaining not only a qualification but a husband too!), two library assistant roles and a lockdown which led me into the world of ICT, I am happy to say that I am back where I belong in ‘Library Land’.

I’ve worked in public libraries, primarily Knutsford Library in Cheshire East, as well as in an education library at Wirral Metropolitan College. I then took a sidestep due to COVID19 and spent eighteen months working for The Learning Trust in Chester, developing my ICT skills as an IT Technician (which I am sure will come in handy in the future), before applying for my dream role as a librarian here at ELS – for which I was thankfully successful!

I am looking forward to developing my career in this exciting role, and to learn all there is to know about promoting and providing education library services!
